This weekend, we at the Café are celebrating our 2 year anniversary...!

It has all happened quite quickly.  And given the fact that most restaurants fail within the first year or two,  we have something to be proud of.

Sooooo, it's time to celebrate.

Saturday night we are having a party...

Open bar from 8-10.

Free Appetizers.

DJ Jay spinning mp3's all night.

Good times, good peeps.  It's all we ever wanted.

Just a quick note about the deluge that is our lives here in NYC...

Life is wet.

Life is hard.

Why not swing by the cafe and tell us about it.

We are friendly.

We are nice.

We'll even give you hugs, if you ask...

With all the rain, and the absence of summer, this evening has given us at the cafe a chance to take a step back and CHIIIIIIL...
So, here's my point of view, tasting seasonal cocktails and playing backgammon with my bartender David.
(Yes, it's the same David that worked here last year... He's back for the summer, and working Saturdays exclusively. Come in and welcome him back!!!)

So, yes...  We have once again made some menu adjustments...

In order to further compete in these difficult times, we have made some price concessions and reformulated a few of our dishes.

* All burgers and sandwiches are now served with homemade potato chips, instead of fries.
This allows us to save money on potatoes and the oil we fry them in.  WE THEN PASS THOSE SAVINGS BACK TO YOU!

* We have adjusted menu prices DOWNWARD.
This is a move directed at being more competitive.  We realize that people have less money to spend, so we are looking for ways to give people the same FUN EXPERIENCE, just at LOWER PRICES...

* And, of course, NEW MENU ITEMS!
In our continued effort to give YOU, our customers, what you want, we have added some new things to our daily reportiore... Buffalo Chicken Wings, Fish Tacos, Omelets, and an Egg Sandwich are now available ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.

Even as we are in the midst of the worse economic situation in many generations, i am pleased to say that today we served our BUSIEST brunch ever!  And don't get me wrong, at the end of the week, the numbers don't lie...  Things are VERY tough...

But, every once in a while, the sun must come out to shine.

And that's what happened today.  A full house of BRUNCHERS, eating and drinking to their delight!  Lot's of folks took advantage of our BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH drinking deal...  For those of you who don't already know, when we serve Brunch (Saturdays & Sundays, from 11am 'till sunset), we offer an additional "All You Can Drink" option for $15.  That's all the Bloody Mary's, Bellini's, Mimosas, and Screwdrivers you can handle (one at a time, of course, and while we think you can still walk).  And no, the food is NOT included...

Come and see what all the fuss is about!

I just LOVE the vibe here on the weekends...

All the people, enjoying their time with friends, families and/or lovers.

We get complimented on the food all the time, but to see the same faces every Saturday and Sunday... that is what tells me that we are doing something right...

Especially in times like these, we small business owners need a little suport every now and again.

Whether it be financial or in social format, IT'S AAAAALL GOOOOOD...

In the spirit of trying to mix things up a bit, we have started to do a few different things here at the café...

Mondays, from 6-10, we have started KARAOKE, on our little stage towards the back.

Join Andrew, our resident karaoke EXTRAORDINAIRE, and sing your heart out while the rest of us giggle under our breaths!

(Also, you can enjoy a FREE DRINK after of your 5 minutes of fame are up!!!)

Tuesdays, from 7-9, we are starting a ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION called Let's Talk.

A sort of "MEETING OF THE MINDS...", where we will talk about life, politics, religion, and/or ANYTHING that concerns or inspires you...  Topics will vary from week to week, depending upon who shows up.  The conversation will be led by Leor Sinai, a good friend of mine and skilled dialogue facilitator.

Also, don't forget that it's Happy Hour ALL NIGHT LONG, so drink at a discount while you talk (or just listen...).

SHHHHH...  There's a conversation being had.  Come and JOIN IN!

Saturdays, after 10pm, is OLD SCHOOL 90's HIP-HOP + REGGAE night.

Join us with resident DJ JAY (and other random special guests), while we spin all those GREAT 90's tracks we grew up listening to!!!  A true BLAST FROM THE PAST!
